Tacoma News Tribune op-ed: Vote No on I-2066

“A misleading initiative on your November ballot would threaten programs across the state that are helping our neighbors living on lower incomes realize these benefits. That’s one of the many reasons that a broad coalition of civic groups across the state — from labor unions to doctors to building professionals — are urging a no vote on I-2066.”

Kara Odegard and Lianna Kressin teamed up to publish an excellent op-ed in the Tacoma News Tribune. Kara is the founding partner at Measure Meant, a Spokane-based small business that supports cities, tribes and businesses with their sustainability and climate resiliency planning. Lianna is the interim executive director and Basic Needs Campaign lead at the Statewide Poverty Action Network, a statewide advocacy organization that advocates for poverty reduction policy in the Washington State Legislature.

“As a small business advancing climate resiliency and an organization advocating for poverty reduction policy statewide, we know just how important energy efficiency is. Energy efficiency programs benefit everyone, and are particularly important for people living on fixed and lower incomes … I-2066 would raise people’s energy bills in a variety of ways.
